Sorry! I am not going to talk here about Harry Potter or his latest release!

Voldemort is the new NoSQL technology which is gradually gaining popularity.

It is an alter version of RDBMS with less of a headache while handling any conventional RDBMS. Other NoSQLs are HBase and Cassandra.

Basically why to use NoSQL??

Here is the answer:

SHELL approach.

NoSQL runs on any UNIX machine. AWK and PERL can be used to access the

database. Tables are treated as normal text files

Distinct Row and Column Operators

‘Row’ operator to select rows of data and ‘column’ operator to select columns of

data.

Writing huge amount data in a jiffy!

Cassandra claims to write 50GB of data to the disk in 0.12milliseconds.

Use of LSM trees.

LSM trees have two tables (trees): memory tree and disk tree.

LSM tree uses merge sort to sort index changes in memory tree which are

extracted from disk components. The inserts and deletes can be performed with

less disk arm movement thus fastening the operations!

Portability of data.

Data can be transformed from Macintoshes and MSDOS systems.

NoSQL is actually not a database but simply using SHELL utilities to handle text files and relate them in RDBMS fashion. NoSQL thus does not provide referential integrity, triggers and stored procedures. Excess of processes running simultaneously can determine the bottleneck performance of OS. So at some point of time space has to be sacrificed for speed!

Okay…here I am …finally taking the plunge I wished such long…..
Not a very strong reason to begin blogging today…just ‘Aise hi’…:)

So here is getting to the core….

Venue: CSI Airport, Santacruz
Event: Seeing off my sister

I have just bid adieu to my sister (suitably ‘tai’) at the 2 A terminal….and so far it has been pretty well...I am silent….serious and bleak….deep into my snobbish emotional pool ….waiting …waiting…still waiting…for some ulterior emotion will give out its way in the form of 1 tiny-miny tear droplet…..
Damn!...what has happened to you…cry you moron…..cry….!!!

K..the minutes' hand had trudged 15 places from the watch's vertical axis and by now the car had taken 4 consecutive lefts .And with it the guilt of not crying had faded graciously. Ahh!!!.....Mumbai roads at night....they are so divine!!!
I swear the Bandra flyover never looked so welcoming. A few cars driving...with fiercy speed only made it adorable....Suddenly two guys on a second-rate bike with an impish look appeared by the side. Their torn shirts n bare feet spoke of their standards. The guy at the back held helmet in his left hand....and the one in the front had a band-aid over his right eye-brow.....They passed by us......

Seconds later as we neared the bike...something happened.... so quick and unusual..that it tangibly popped out my eyeballs...The guy riding the bike.... miraculously stood up....the bike still at a frenzy speed..... later he started doing some martial arts kind of hand gestures maintaining the upright position...It was Breathtaking !!It was Phenomenal!!!No wonder the guy had band aid over his eye brow.....

I quickly took out my camera so that I can get as many snaps as possible....Then I could just zoom in n see both of their faces. But what if the snaps come blurred.....No...
I better put the cam in video mode......k..done!

Just as I was going to shoot the show....the guy at the behind dropped the helmet....Dammnn !!!.The stunner had to stop all the action n return back to get the helmet...He turned around n drove crazily to get his helmet.....By this time we were quite ahead of them and our driver was in no mood to stop by for the guys to begin the action again.....
